Hadassah brings the voice, poetry and songcraft. Kribo’w Mendez brings the decks, production and a deep instinct for movement, rhythm and musical storytelling.

Together, they ask a deceptively simple question: what happens when we treat love as an act rather than an abstraction?

“Stay calm. Don’t worry.” A light love song carrying Portuguese/Lusophone influence through a distinctly South African musical passport — 3-step, live bass, saxophone and the long tradition of South African music absorbing outside sounds and making them local.

The Distance
Project.

Distance used to be a barrier to collaboration. Technology has made it negotiable.

The Distance Project follows the making of Love Is A Revolution across roughly 400 kilometres — through calls, sessions, delays, everyday life, creative arguments and the strange intimacy of making something together from apart.

It is also a look at what independent creatives can do with the tools now available to them, including the expanding role of digital production and AI.

Ultimately, it is less a story about technology than about what people do with it.

THE VOICE

Hadassah

Singer-songwriter, poet and deep creative. Hadassah moves between soul, jazz, Afro-soul and neo-soul, bringing language, feeling and a little trouble to whatever genre she enters.

Her work is interested in love — love of self, other, God and art — and in making listeners feel heard while giving them something to think about.

KRIBO’W MENDEZ

THE ARCHITECT

Kribo’w Mendez

Producer and DJ with a deep relationship to house, 3-step and Afro-house. Mendez approaches music as storytelling: rhythm, keys, texture and movement become part of the narrative.

On stage, Hadassah leads from the front while Mendez works the architecture behind the sound.
